broccoliBroccoli sprouts are high in vitamins A, B, C, E and minerals such as potassium, calcium, iodine, magnesium and sulphur.

They are recommended in menopause because of their phytoestrogen and calcium content. Another of their compounds, known as sulphurophane (SGS), has been shown to be effective in preventing colon, prostate and breast cancer.

In addition to helping to protect against the risk of cancer, broccoli is a nutritious low-fat food that is much valued in cases of obesity and weight-watching.
